This recognition highlights our efforts in social innovations in health, healthcare accessibility, and mobile clinics for underserved communities. This recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to providing sustainable and practical health solutions to underserved communities in the Philippines.
Our project submission, “Medical Mobile Clinic,” stood out for its creativity, dedication, and innovative approach to addressing critical healthcare challenges in rural areas, providing health solutions for rural areas, and advancing Philippine healthcare innovations. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, ABC’s for Global Health has always been at the forefront of developing impactful initiatives, and this acknowledgment highlights the effectiveness of our work.
The awarding ceremony will take place during the PCHRD Anniversary Celebration on March 27-28, 2025, where the exceptional contributions of social innovators in health will be celebrated.
What is the Gelia Castillo Award for Research in Social Innovations in Health (GCARSIH)?
The GCARSIH Award recognizes outstanding social innovations that tackle persistent societal and health system challenges. Through examining the experiences of innovators, the award aims to uncover how and why these solutions create impact while identifying pathways to scale and integrate these interventions into the larger health system.
This award is specifically open to ongoing social innovations in health developed by and for Filipinos. Eligible entries must demonstrate new solutions—whether in the form of products, services, models, processes, or mechanisms—that effectively address health needs. Beyond delivering results, these innovations should empower individuals and communities to take ownership of their health and strengthen relationships within the health system.
Our Journey with the Medical Mobile Clinic
At ABC’s for Global Health, we believe that healthcare should be accessible to everyone, regardless of geographic or economic barriers. Our Medical Mobile Clinic initiative embodies this principle.
